Eglise Saint Sylvestre

Today was George and Anne's last day at Bargemon so we set of for Claviers to have a look around and possibly some lunch. It's a pretty little town and it's main attraction seems to be this little church which dates back to the 11th century. It was last used in 1945 and is now decommissioned and used as an exhibition centre.

We had a good meal in the garden of La Cle de Songe and had the place all to ourselves sheltering under a parasol as the sun was so hot.

George and Anne went off to catch their plane at 4 o'clock so after having a full house at the start of the weekend, it's just the two of us now. Aah, I hear you all say? That's not so bad, is it?

I hope you've had a good weekend. There's a few more from Claviers here.

David

PS If you're wondering what a cannon is doing outside the church, I think it's some sort of old fashioned mobile fire extinguisher.
