Roses are not always Red...

this rose bush is just starting to flower quite profusely and though it wasn't my expected blip for the day the thing that I had intended to picture can be seen in the background. The blue that you can see is our ceanothus which has just burst into flower today. I've seen so many in flower around the town but ours - well he was just biding his time so that he could catch all the bees that he could...& there sure are lots of bees down there.

Saw JGB this am for a good old chin wag, haven't seen him in a while despite him only living 50yds away. I used to work for him & always called call him Boss. He retired 20 odd years ago when I took over from him. Unbelievable that he will be 80 this September !

A quick trip to the tip to take N & R's garden rubbish then to the chemist to collect the outstanding drugs, then to Budgen's to buy some bedding Geraniums, which we will pot up for a summer show. Here I saw SD who had had some sad news regarding his mum who had just passed away aged only 67 years. Poor chap. Not only that, but his BIL had had a heart attack aged 42 - which proves that you don't know what is around the next corner. He's ok as it turns out but for S a shocking few days. Told me that his wife S was going to help J get through her problems which will involve Chemotherapy. Poor girl. Thinking of everyone who have health problems at the moment; I know what it is like.

From Bedgrove I went to P's to drop in his post. He was at work & has to be out of this house by Friday. He is going to lodge in Chilton for a while, and has to go for another op, this time on his wrist. He has suffered from RSI for some time & has needed an op desperately. There is never a good time when you are a self employed carpenter but it has got so bad now he has got to have it done. The other one is due to be done too...poor sod !

Hot breezy sunny day & all the kids are in the school playing fields (behind us) are having fun in the sun !
