Birthday Preparations

Decided I needed to go to the out of town shopping centre. It had to be first thing or not at all. Birthday present and bits and pieces to be bought (we have an 8th birthday approaching rapidly!). Took the boys to football, which gave me less than 90 minutes to get to the shops, do the shopping and get back for them. I just made it!

Quite an uninspiring day weather-wise. The temperature has plummeted and it’s dampish. Spent the afternoon baking to great music while the boys went for haircuts and to the tip to get rid of some rubbish. Mid-bake I ran out of chocolate so had to dash out to get some and got trapped behind someone at the till doing a complicated shop. Her shopping seemed to have to add up to a certain amount. She put things back, she got new things and so it went on. Aaaaaagghh!!!

Just managed to squeeze a gin out of the bottle for a gin and tonic. We now have a gin shortage in our household.

Blip famine today. Here’s some lady’s mantle in my garden – looking a bit damp. I think it looks clearer large.
