Christmas Day, and a dog..

..if you can count canoes as "ships"!! (and it was afternoon!!)

Like the bank, and the cinema, and the vet, and the fishmonger, and the library, the Optician comes to us. Specsavers hire local halls, and set up their equipment for eye tests. OK, we had to drive to Lochinver, 25 miles away, but for us that is just down the road.. And the appointment was for 12:00 noon. That left the afternoon for a run along the coast road, back to Kylesku. Adds 10 miles to the 25 mile journey, but what a run it is. With beaches at Achmelvic, Clactoll, Stoer, Clashnessie, and a winding 25 mile single track road. Every inch is a scenic delight with views to the Outer Hebrides, overland to Foinaven and Arkle, inland to Quinag and Stack of Glencoul, veiws over Eddrachilles bay and on to Scourie and Handa. And even better today as it was warm and sunny..

Eyes have changed a bit and have to have some new glasses, both for reading and distance. So gone for varifocals.

No change with Mum. She isn't very mobile, and eats (a) little.

Development company meeting tonight, to discuss the grand opening of the new changing rooms. Going to be a grand affair with "nobilities", buffet lunch, and shinty 6's competition with teams from all over the highlands including Uist and Lewis. Should be a good day, with a ceilidh in the evening too..

Music..
