Along the South West Coastal Path near Perranporth
A great 8 mile circular walk from Holywell Bay along the coast to Perranporth beach, then along the beach for a while and up into the Penhale sand dunes to find St Piran's Church and finally wending our way along narrow roads and footpaths back to Holywell.
Spectacular scenery along the coast, early morning cloud clearing to give a great day on the cliff top. Saw a seal, all sorts of plants, a cinnabar moth and garden tiger moth. A well received walk but challenging to find our way through the dunes but it all worked out well in the end. Here the group are attacking the sandy slopes coming up from the beach.
Weather was good, but promises not to be so good for the remainder of the week. We all enjoyed a welcome cup of tea and slice of cake when we got back and now 6 of us are also enjoying a relaxing hour while Dennis and Irene prepare the evening meal. We're promised a 4 bird roast with roast potatoes and vegetables followed by a mystery pudding which is sure to have copious quantities of custard. Dennis, like me, is very fond of his custard.
In case you might feel this is hard on Dennis and Irene, we all take our turn at cooking an evening meal for the rest of the group. Our turn on Tuesday.
