Flower? What flower?
Today on our walk, there was a whimper of delight and pulling on the lead from Archie when he recognised The Meadows ahead. And I do think he recognised his own gate on the way back. He’s going to trip me up one of these days, and it’ll be my camera I try to save.
Archie still stops and looks at every single person who passes us - I think he thinks they should all make a fuss of him, as every adult he’s met in the house has. A couple of people smiled at him and some squealing teenage girls did stop to pat him.
Talking of squealing girls - had to watch the Sharapova match with the sound OFF. I certainly wouldn’t want to be watching live.
A neighbour popped in to see him, which was good, as he had a big deep voice and wasn’t a doggy person anyway, so he obliged when I asked him to ignore Archie until he had calmed down (Archie). It’s hard to ask visitors to do this, but it has to be done.
Then the men came with the bedroom secondary windows. Archie was a bit frantic, as there were lots of booming voices and banging and he was shut in the kitchen. I gave him a pig’s ear, which did the trick - nothing matters to a pup with a pig’s ear.
Talking about ears - I’ve made an appointment with the vet tomorrow. Archie scratches his ears a lot and I know you’re meant to pull the hair out of the inside of the ear and keep them hairless, but he’s not keen on this (understandably) and so I have been remiss. I need a professional job done.
Archie and I watched the tennis this afternoon - still going on. And lo and behold - it’s turning into a nice evening - might fire up the barbie!
This is a Clematis 'Nelly Moser'. I looked it up. It was pretty spectacular, but Archie failed to spot it.
PS Eeek! Just realised it's poisonous!!
