Nesting cormorants

After a day full of cooking, cleaning, picking up, swimming and socialising I realized that I had no blip yet - that hasn't happened often so far.
So I quickly went out to the little lake nearby and took lots of shots of waterfowl.
Some turned out to be quite pretty but you have seen all many swans and ducks by now. But a colonie of nesting cormorants was new to me. There were many more on the little island but I cropped it to these 5 nests because they are in such a nice diagonal line upwards and you can see some even feeding their young, although these are already pretty grown up. The background is not glorious, due to the lens that I have. But it is better than no picture at all :-)
We are enjoying the visit of one of hubby's best friends and everybody enjoyed what I cooked...So, a good day all in all.
