Campervan Fun
Woke up early to go for a morning run. Haven't done any exercise for far too long so it was good to get out! When I got back Hugh had locked the door so sat outside for 30 minutes before I got in! Had breakfast and packed our bags before saying bye to Hugh. Lesley drove us to go and pick up the camper van. Eventually found it and said goodbye to lovely Lesley. Watched a video on the camper before setting off on our 10 day road trip. Did a nice big food shop before driving out of Brisbane. Also went to a bottle shop drive through and got far too much booze!! Got 24 pear ciders and 24 coronas. Getting slashed..... Realised the Tomtom was taking us in different route than we wanted to go so we diverted and went up some small tracks to get us on the right route again! Drove through the Clare Valley Wine Region which was very pretty. We waited and waited for lunch as Duncan had recommend the Stone Hut bakery in Stone Hut! Bit longer to drive than I first realised. Sadly it had closed down and Stone Hut is a ghost town so there was nothing else! Drove 30 minutes to Melrose and found a funny shop there and grabbed a pie. There was a bike shop that did coffees and free wifi. So went in there and Mother caught up with the Mill. Melrose is a really good biking place with crazy bike trails. Arrived in Quorn and realised how low we were on petrol. Went into the local pub and to ask where the nearest petrol station was which was in Port Augusta. So we drove 40km there which was so the west which was completely out of direction but we sort of had too. Drove back to 'ghost town' Quorn and parked our camper outside a motel. Sneakily camped the night so we didn't have to pay!
