Not really, he was just away to chauffeur Tess down to her friends birthday disco tonight at the scout hut.

The dress and shoes were bought today, she's more than a wee bit happy with them. Taller than me. Working some serious attitude. 10 years old. Man, I was lucky if I didn't have twigs in my hair and skint knees from mucking around like a tomboy when I was 10. As I type this, 31 years later, I realise I have both afflictions with an added pinch of mud all over me after mucking around in the garden tonight. I wish I was a sophisticat, not just a mad old cat lady.
