Castle gateway

A quick castle blip before we drive across to Leeds for a small orienteering event in Holt Park Leeds.

Having taken a view through the doorway I liked the way you can see how the entrances to the castle have evolved and changed over time. Presumably the arch way permitted travellers on horseback to ride in splendour through the gate.
