Elephant Hawk-moth

I saw this good looking moth whilst calling in on the peregrines again.

Thanks for all your comments (stars and favs) yesterday, I think most of you probably had a similar reaction to me and I am pleased to say the diet was pigeon today :) Watching the young peregrines is quite compelling, they are very close to fledging now. They are increasingly standing on the very edge of the ledge and exercising their wings. One bit of extra courage and they will be off, The parents are noticeably feeding them less often and then leaving un-plucked food and saying fend for themselves, they grow up fast !!
