Bee and Orchid

I'm sure there is a plant called a bee orchid this is not it but it is a Bee and an Orchid.

Lots of them on the Longdendale trail today - I think they are Marsh Orchids.

Very warm today and too much grass cutting going on for comfort. Lots of Hayfever prevention and treatments in use today but still went out in it twice. Not many birds around while snapping the Orchid but there were plenty in the afternoon around Tintwistle and the Reservoirs.

I enjoyed seeing the first and last hours of the Test Match on TV ( Joe Root 100 not out). Sunny, Lords, men dressed in white and a red cricket ball so that would be the real thing - Test Match cricket.

I managed to avoid most of the tennis, had to watch most of the football ( a better match than expected spoilt by a terrible referee decision ) but have seen little of the Golf.

We managed to to see quit a lot of the last day of Springwatch I even caught the early programme. The Bitterns are an amazing sight and the highlight was probably the young bird's big eye looking right into the camera lens I assume seeing its own image reflected. It really did look like a descendent of the dinosaurs.

A long day punctuated by problems for Dad and of course Mum's reactions to them - they might have enjoyed more of the day if Andy Murray had not had a 'bad day at the office' and lost to someone he should probably have beaten.

Tired.
