Polished finish

This is the wonderful overflow area at the brim full Torside Reservoir Dam in Longdendale.

Today as the sun disappeared and some very dark clouds filled the valley it seemed to enhance the scene making the water look like the polished top of a grand piano.

Those victorian engineers didn't just built things to last, in this case they built in beauty at the same time.

If you look at the satellite view on the location map and you will see this reservoir had a low level when the picture was taken and it reveals the shape.
