Suicide is dangerous

Peace.

In contrast to yesterday's angry man picture. Inspired in no small part by the movie poster for the film M*A*S*H, hence the title of this blip. How I used to love that TV series. I think it was the first series to be on continual repeat, long before Friends did the same thing.

Amused myself watching Geoff opposite cutting his hedge yesterday. It wasn't the cutting that amused but the clearing up. With a broom and his hands, we are talking 5 minutes tops but no, Geoff has one of those overgrown leaf vacuums, so I reckon it took him at least an hour. Firstly, it barely picks anything up; he almost had to tease the cuttings into the damn thing. Secondly, it clogs up about every 2 - 3 minutes and he would strip it back, clear the blockage, re-assemble and start again.

It did get me wondering about 2 things though, (1) our refusal to accept that something is a pile of crap and (2) inventions that over complicate very simple tools/tasks, like:

~ The electric carving knife
~ Tablets as note pads in meetings - what's wrong with a pen and paper?
~ The battery operated spaghetti fork
