Rats!

I met up with Kathymay down at Media City this afternoon and we had an interesting yet bizarre time. Create Salford Festival is on at the moment and there are displays of work from Salford University students....some interesting stuff and some stuff that...well let's just say...is there! We wandered around and then sat in the sunshine with some lunch. Whilst munching on a sandwich we saw a bizarre 'show' going on in a glass cube. We wandered over and watched two men with rat heads on 'exercising' and following instructions from a man with a mike and a phallic nose.

The performance was a Joke-athon, listed as a marathon of jokes told by you the Create Salford audience....as Kath said, "I don't think I told any jokes." Neither did I. But....the sun was shining and everyone was in a happy mood and we laughed at the weirdness of it all...even though we had no idea what it was about.

We then wandered into the University building and were asked if we wanted to go into a studio...again we didn't know what we were letting ourselves in for, but it was brilliant. We were shown how they add backgrounds to programmes and films and then in another studio we got to have a go with a TV camera. It was fantastic....in fact it was so good I picked up all the brochures on the degrees they do there in. Maybe I should become a student again.
