A House Favorite
Of the 64 images I shot at this weeks openmic, many were pehaps better photos, but I tend to lean towards the backstory. Jim wandered in the openmic a few years back and quickly became a house favorite. Jim is a proud Scot with a wonderful accent who spent much of his life playing in pubs thoughout Europe and spins some great tales of those times. Picking up a guitar, he flips it over to play it upside down and backwards...left handed. This makes it very difficult for the rest of us to tell what chords or licks he's playing. Tonight he came straight from work as a security gaurd and, still in uniform, asked me if I could find him a spot in my lineup. He didn't have his guitar with him so I loaned him mine. His repertoire leans from rockabilly to country so it is interesting to hear him introduce his tunes with a Scottish accent then prodeed to perform them with a country flair.
Another night of great music and fellowship.
