A Local Landmark Turns 40

A play on the spelling of Rutabega, that strange yellow turnip. Rutabegorz is celebrating its 40th year. Back in the early 70's we used to go to "Rutas" to sip coffee with descriptions like "coffee with clouds" which was probably just a latte, while listening to a guitarist or maybe someone reciting some hip prose or poetry. With tie-dye apparel in abundance, they soon started selling healthy alternatives to fast food. Today there is still tie-dye and a very healthy menu. It's remained an eclectic, funky place for good food and atmosphere that draws one to creative conversation. Located near the college in Fullerton, there is an energy that is contagious with a staff that soon become friends. As often as we eat there, it was sure to get blipped soon. I think taegan1 blipped about thier cookies a few days back.
