FAST FOOD OUTLET

Evidently the raccoon marauder struck again last night! The first time this feeder was down, the raccoon had climbed the pole and pushed it off the hook. We fixed it so he couldn’t knock it down quite so easily – so instead, he just pushed the entire pole down! Today we left the feeder on the ground a while since the squirrels were so happy about their new fast food outlet. But when our resident ground hog/woodchuck found out about the free food, I chased him away and re-set the pole. A couple weeks ago, the raccoon also broke into the other feeder that my husband had built - it’s still in the repair shop. Guess it’s best to take down all the feeders for a few weeks in hopes the raccoon will move on to other territory. Right now the birds and squirrels will do just fine with their natural foods. (The squirrels will still get peanut treats every day though.)
