Seaport Village

Yet another charming section of San Diego is Seaport Village. I like to go walking in that area occasionally and grab a coffee or lunch. There is a great little shopping district with local shops and restaurants right there on the waterfront. There are almost always local vendors on the streets, performance art, or singers and musicians lining the walkway. The views of San Diego Bay are incredible. This picture is of a little shop that sells all sorts of windmills and such. It is a terrible picture, but it gives a taste of the kind of local crafts are available, as opposed to the big chain stores found most everywhere else. The walkway, if you follow it along the ocean, will take you down to the USS Midway, the giant navy battleship that is open for tours by the public. It is right next to the cruise terminal where the Disney Wonder docked when we were coming through on our way up to Alaska.
