Cuba Luna
The first day for quite a while that hasn't been baking hot. Even the thunder storm on Tuesday night brought little rain and no relief in the humid temperatures.
However for farrier Richard not a bad thing as he came by late afternoon to shoe Sultan and a quick pedicure for Asyr. He came with wife Sabine and his BC "Cuba" who we hadn't seen for quite a while. Great to see them both again and we took the opportunity after Richard had done his work to spend the evening having a BBQ and chat.
I used to think Luna was a tireless ball/frisbee/stick junky - Cuba is something else. He left her standing on the spot and I can only think that her frustration at not being able to match him caused such frustration that she spent the whole time gnarling and snapping at him. Very badly behaved - something she has been doing more and more when meeting other dogs. It seems to be fear but normally after a minute or two she becomes best friends and charges around playing with them. Not today. Shame as it would have given her a very good work out.
Flash could nearly have been Cuba's daddy. Many years ago a horse owner asked Richard if he knew someone with a BC to cover his BC mix bitch and he mentioned Flash. The two had a "session" together but nothing came of it. Some time later the dog did have puppies and Cuba is one of the litter. Cuba is a wonderfully handsome dog with a lovely nature, so long as one can come to terms with BC ball junkies! Cuba is in the foreground - Luna reluctantly put on a half smile only because she knew she would be Bliped.
