Maidstone Model Engineering Club (again)
We thought Sunday was going to be a quieter day but it turned out not to be quite so quiet. Susan is on a mission to find a handbag to complete her ensemble for Chris and De'Shaun's wedding in San Diego in August and I wanted to go to the allotment. So we decided to go our separate ways for the morning, me to garden, Susan to Bluewater. Both of us were successful I can report.
In the afternoon we walked our usual route around Mote Park on the lookout for a blip. The model trains are always a good bet and so it proved. Unfortunately a shower of rain curtailed operations which led to the owners putting away their engines earlier than usual.
You have to marvel at the engineering skill and dedication which went into building these locomotives and also the power these diminutive machines as they haul several people around the track with ease.
This locomotive is a model of the Southern Railway "U" Class engines which were built between 1928 and 1932
