What World Cup??
Angie has invited friends Christa & Michi to come over this afternoon for coffee & cake followed by BBQ and at 18:00 (CET) watch a football game. She asked me to make a "Public Viewing" facility on the terrace as it's around the 30°C today.
So obedient as ever I have done as requested, even decorated it, tuned in to the station and thrown the remote control in the swimming pool.
Should be a fun evening watching half-hourly re-runs of the naming of the new aircraft carrier. I am warming the beer in the sun and just hope the charcoal doesn't "accidentally" follow the path of the remote control.
What one does for good friends and wives.
(Sorry Scotland for not having the appropriate flag)
As I will be forced to replace this photo later (I am after all also realistic enough to know who wears the trousers around here - David learnt it recently from another Angie), probably best not to post any comments!
9:00pm - As Germany won (just) and spirits are high I have been allowed to keep a smaller version of the earlier post on the condition I also showed one with the German flag. If you look very very carefully at the top photo - to the left of the screen on the brown window shutter, below the Union flag, you can see a white "thing". This is one of a pair of white socks sold by the German Diabetes Charity for the World Cup and has a German flag emblazoned on it. The sock and thus the flag are upside down which compensates for me hanging up the Union Jack the wrong way!
Impressed? Thought so. What a good boy I have been all day - done everything I was told to do and even ate everything Angie put on my plate from the lovely BBQ she did. So we should have good weather tomorrow, despite the threat all evening of thunderstorms.
Only one feeling down tonight is Luna. She had the most wonderful time with Christa and Michi's dog, Penny. They played all afternoon and evening in a very friendly and relaxed way. Penny kept jumping out of the car when she was loaded in to go home and Luna tried jumping in. She's now luckily fast asleep and no doubt dreaming of the next visit, with luck in a few weeks.
