What did we do today?

We had a great day!

Our day pretty much starts when I have coffee which was at 9am.

I let them muck about as i had a bit of housework to do and I had my Ccs lady come by at 1030 to do a talk link referral. The guy who was meant to come for Kanyes bike assessment couldn't come at the last minute so that was fine. I was eager to put harper down for a sleep so she didn't stay long.

Once harper was asleep i opened up the crayola window crayons which are amazing. They draw so well on windows and they come off with window cleaner.

The boys had an awesome time, they giggled as my mum drew pictures of them. They talked about what they were drawing, they wanted me to draw different things. It was a lot of fun.

They spent most of an hour doing this, afterwards when I could see them getting bored i got the tape out and made a road on the floor, they grabbed their cars and raced them around and when they had finished it was lunch.

This sort of thing is great for their fine motor skills and imagination.

After lunch they both got their buzz lightyears out and wanted to watch toy story. It was perfect timing, I popped to the shop while mum watched them, we had lunch and by the time the movie was finished we were on to the next activity!

I usually use shaving foam but knowing harper was there i used cream instead . The older two loved it. It's great for their sensory needs. Harper was wary initially putting one finger in the cream then his hand , then he tasted it. He was hooked. He kept trying to grab the cream and put it in his mouth- he wanted it so much that twice he leant over and put his face in the tray trying to lick the cream. He was covered as was i and the boys and the carpet. Once he got excited he started splashing his hands and it went every where!

Mum put the boys in the shower and i quickly went over the carpet with the wet vac.

Kanye then was tired. I knew he would be. All of this stimulus and sensory things. He has sensory processing disorder so he can't take in too much, he overloads and crashes. I do try though to do some things like at home so he still gets some sensory interaction.

I sat with Marley and had a cup of tea while he did some writing. We then read some hairy maclary books. By then Kanye had had enough of a break to come back from lying down to want to do something else. I got the play dough i made, out and let them sit in the afternoon sun and play, they did so for about an hour. This is also great for sensory and fine motor skills.

Mar woke up husky this morning and by this afternoon had lost his voice. I called my doctor and spoke to the nurse she said it sounded like laryngitis and to keep an eye on him, if he still couldn't speak Wednesday to come in or be seen before then if he could no longer swallow properly. I took them all down to the pharmacy but there wasn't anything they could give him so it grabbed some v8 juice for him from the supermarket and we came home. Mar instantly went and got into bed he lay down and just played on the ipad.

Had lots to tell my hubby tonight about our day and lots of photos to show him!
