Lazy sunday
Today was Andres only weekend day off, he worked yesterday so we thought we would just absolutely relax today.
In the morning we all watched Babe and the kids loved it, I forgot how much i liked it too and now to add to my list of animals i want to get i want a pig. i think i may need a larger section than i thought when we buy a house! I miss living on the farm, i remember my grandads sheep dogs, i remember their hen house. As a farmers daughter it almost gave me pangs of homesickness for a place where i grew up.
After that we had coffee and the boys played while we listened to Lazy Sunday on spotify. The boys had rough and tumble with Andre which they usually do on Saturdays, its so good for them to have that chance to expel some energy in a safe play way with their dadda.
Andre heated us up some minestrone while i made the boys lunch, My in laws came round at the perfect time so we heated up some more minestrone for them, we talked and ate. Was very relaxing.
After they left we had some time before we had to start getting dinner ready so i got their new water play table out, i was planning to use it tomorrow but they needed something to do. They loved it! they spent the better part of an hour tipping water into the water wheel and the little water slide. Harper joined in at the end but mainly splashed, it was then i think the boys grew tired of it.
Its a great little table, i got it on special this week when i bought the train table, its a little small in height but maybe that's a good thing, if it was higher there might be water spills!
I'm planning to have a quiet first week at home doing activities, they're both so tired they don't need to be carted around doing stuff, i'm saving the days out until the week after so they've had a bit of downtime. Marley woke up with a cold this morning and tonight had almost lost his voice so i think my plan to be at home for a bit is a good one.
Many therapists have said about putting my kids in holiday programmes and while its an idea especially during the Christmas holidays i find the 2 week breaks during the year they actually need to just do nothing.
They're always so tired, i don't want to make them keep going throughout the holidays just so its easier for me not having them here. I really don't like that idea. I love that i can be home, I love that i receive enough money from the government each week that its essentially a part time job. Its enough for me to be home. Andre and i worked out if i went back to full time work i'd lose about half of what i'm already getting so its worth it for me to be home with these boys.
Late afternoon today the boys watched transformers, i was a little unsure that it might be a little too much for them but they loved it, typical boys, mar was amazed at the cars that turn into robots, he instantly went and made a lego one. It is pretty cool, i like them so i guess its only reasonable for my boys to love them too.
They sat and watched the whole thing too, usually they lose interest but Andre kind of narrated it a bit in terms they would get. You know ' Look boys the good robots are fighting the bad robots'
Good vs bad is what mar is really into right now so right up his alley!
