On my doorstep

These are the grass verges around our village, there's not a day when I'm at home that I don't walk by them - they're all designated SSSI's and will soon fall into the expansion zone of the National Park - with good reason - the biodiversity on display is some of the finest in Northern England.
I've worked hard at making life pretty good in recent years -in recent weeks I've been instructing and guiding in the Lake District, Wales & Scotland - next week I'm off to the Alps to take people round Mont Blanc - but I'm glad I'm still able to stop and appreciate what's right here on my doorstep - I live in a beautiful part of the world and its great to come back to.
