These little plants were thought to be extinct until some were discovered here on 10 June 2008. Now there are quite a few, poking up through the sand here and there. They are just some of the rare and endangered species of plant that are now protected in our ecological reserve on the beach here at Playa Paraiso.

Until some idiots decide to put their beach towels and umbrellas on them, that is.
