Blood letting day!!!

After fasting for 14 hours, I still walked around the block at 7.25 am.
At 7.50 am I went to the said hospital for a routine blood test, what fun, it took 4 goes to collect the specimen. I'm bloodless you know!!!!!
The history of the hospital maybe of interest , especially this year, apparently in the 17 th / 18th century Purley as such didn't exist it was known as the northern end of Coulsdon Surrey , latter as the railway arrived it was recognised in it's own right and earning it's name. The Purley War Memorial Hospital was opened in 1940 , but it was a cottage hospital before then being opened by Queen Victoria's daughter , Princess Frederick who apparently was very interested in nursing. ( I would guess it was especially for the poor, " like me, boo ho " ) ! I am sure it was used to full capacity in the war, especially as it was near EastGrinstead where the specialised burns unit was. I am a bit vague on this as I didn't arrive I in Croydon until the sixty's ( until then I was in the midlands) the renovated hospital was opened a couple of years ago by the local MP. It is great inside but it now has only outpatient and diagnosis departments, the access now is fantastic and waiting time very short. Now to have breakfast!!!
