A Royal Princess

A day at sea, sailing towards Copenhagen where a good proportion of the passengers will disembark. This cruise picks up / drops off passengers at three ports in the Baltic. We are staying aboard until Sunday.

The Duchess of Cambridge launched this ship and this blip shows the display case containing photographs and the coatdress that she wore (she was pregnant at the time) for the event.

A little bit about the ship. It was launched in 2013 and has a passenger capacity of about 3,500 passengers and 1,500 crew, so is big!! It is well designed from the passenger point of view in that you wouldn’t think that there were that many people about, plenty of space to sit to eat, relax, be involved with activities. Groups going ashore for trips are well managed and there is no hanging about or long waits.

There has been lots to do today, something for everyone!! B is still under the weather, so whilst he rested I went to a “knitters and crafters” get-together. A group of ten ladies from USA, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and the UK (me), gathered and swapped information and tips about patchwork, quilting and crochet. The 2 hours went like a flash!!
