Midsetter

A cloudy but dry start to the day and then in the late afternoon heavy showers came in and a few in the evening but cleared to a lovely night.

I arrived early to the isle of Papa Stour. Got the caravan set up and headed out to over the Isles road. Great to be back on the isle again. After lunch me and Sammy dog walked the north east of the isle before the rain started. After tea I managed another walk over the roads and through the houses and with the fine night I walked the north west coastal cliffs.

I really love that Papa Stour hasn't changed much and all the houses are still traditional Shetland croft houses and still holds that real country feel. I'd move here in a flash if there was work. The island depopulated in the 50s and 60s, possibly due to the lack of peat to burn and then the hippy movement arrived in the 70s but now only a handful of folk left here. This is the croft at Midsetter, an ideal house for me and Sammy :)
