at home with an Ivysaurus

We're back!

Did you miss us? I'll be uploading blips for the past week when i'm less exhausted from traveling- stay tuned.

This is Ivy on a train coming through the cairngorms on our way back to Ullapool this morning. We've left Euan in the central belt to go see his friends so traveled up alone. Besides by the time we bought three giant glass lemonade jars for our wedding next summer there wasn't much space in the car for us anyway...

Ivy did very well today- she's a very good traveler. We started at 9am with our first train and succesfully changed at Perth. On the Inverness train we made friends with an Italian lady who was travelling round scotland with her 2 year old son- they were sitting near the bathroom where i'd gone to change Ivy, who noticed them and shouted Chooooow (ciao). They came to sit with us for a bit, and Ivy got some cold pizza to chew on. The lady wanted to have a good moan about how tired she was, and that she was unemployed and expecting a baby and skint etc. and I think that's perfeclty okay, sometimes strangers are the best people to moan to.

In inverness we popped into everything baby Highland to pick up a painting of a lady with a baby in a ring sling that we won in a raffle. I'll put it up in Ivy's room soon.

On the bus back to Ullapool, Ivy fell asleep on me with her eyes half open and she did look very funny. Laura (aunty lala) met us off the bus becuase she has my house keys, she stayed whilst we opened Ivy's new wooden tricycle. Ivy can't quite reach the floor but she loved being pushed about on it.

Ivy kept asking where Euan was, but on the whole seemed very pleased at being back in her own house. She zoomed about playing, even locating the beater for her zylophone under the sofa and taking it over the where it should be so she could play.
