Purple Haze

Today we went up to Broadway Tower which LooseCanon has blipped, and the Cotswold Lavender Farm, just down the road from there. It was scorching hot and Bess our visiting Grand dog was very lethargic and kept trying to drag us into patches of shade.
It's an interesting place as they have rows of all the different varieties of lavender, shown in this picture, so you can see which is your favourite. We still think 'Hidcote' is hard to beat.
They will be harvesting the crop in the next few days with some special machine which is unique in this country so they say. They distil the oil and make various scenty things from it, and also sell it to other people who use it to make toiletries etc.
It is forecast to be very hot tomorrow, and they are recommending people to keep an eye on their elderly neighbours. We await the knock on the door.......
