Graduation

We had a nice, steady day. She was up superduper early though, so was just a wee but stroppy a couple of times. But we decided we both wanted to have a day at home and that seemed the right decision! I made her a shorties bikini, as a pattern test. She declared that she hated it because it showed her tummy and should cover her tummy. With a bit of persuasion, she tried it on for the photos, played in the water spray of the hose, had a skip round the garden. But still decided she hated it. As a consequence of her reaction, and a couple of other little missies having similar reactions, the pattern designer is adding a tankini full length vest option!

I suggested she go play in her room midafternoon so that I could crack on with a wee bit of work. I heard her reading Green Eggs and Ham to her friends, and then another book. It went a bit quiet about 3pm. I went to check on her and she'd tucked herself up for bed. I had to wake her about 4.20pm!

This evening was what Katie had been waiting for all day. She was thoroughly delighted to put on her new dress, do her hair, wear her "wedding" shoes and socks then skip off to her Preschool Graduation Party. She is there until mid August, but as term ends tomorrow, many of her friends are finishing. My word did they throw them a fabulous time!! It was a really wonderful party for them. Professional face painters, a wonderful buffet, a beautiul cake, party games, a puppet show, bubble machine, disco, lots of photos with friends. It was so special to see her just completely full of it with her very dear friends. She twirled and bounced and danced and laughed the entire time. She cuddled so many of her friends. She was just a delight. There was the presentation of their certificates, mortar boards, a photograph of each of them in their hats & a balloon model. She went shy and wouldnt go up to the front for hers. However, she thoroughly loved the photos outside with it! We had to really coerce them to get them away from nursery at gone 8pm. She played outside with Poppy & Theo, as they have done many evenings over the past 2 years, then skipped most of the way home, hand in hand with Poppy.

It took some doing to calm her to sleep after SUCH a wonderful evening.
