Speckled Bush Cricket
She, the machete thing on her abdomen is her ovipositor , was found on my broccoli. Clever things. She knew I was photographing her and kept turning her back on me. Eventually she got fed up with being prodded to turn around and took off to the lower leaves by the red lettuce. Good light, good background, she gave me the shot I was looking for. Then she hopped away into the undergrowth.
She's probably the culprit making holes in the leaves. She'll do less damage than the Cabbage White Butterflies whose eggs are developing on every leaf!
