Ataahua Reflections

There's been a lot of rain over the last few days, as you can see from this shot, taken from the car as we sped home tonight.

Being low and on the lake margins (Lake Ellesmere/Te Waihora is just the other side of State Highway 75 here) this part of the road is susceptible to seasonal flooding. But it does mean we in the area are blessed with lush green paddocks!

The rain seems to have gone for the night, so we may get a break from the incessant pit-patter on our zinc roof. Whilst some find it soothing, it's not when your bedroom is up in the eaves, just a couple of metres from the roof apex... It may mean we can get by without ear-plugs tonight....
