Ever decreasing circles

Woke up this morning to find we were low on milk, not enough for breakfast in fact. The renderers were due to arrive and I couldn't leave the house just in case they turned up. So, I spoke to Miss S and asked if she thought she would be old enough (she's 10) to walk the local shops and buy some milk. She looked scared, but said yes. Those 10 minutes or so she was gone was the most heart wrenching moment I have encountered for a long while. Not being able to see if she was ok and coping on her own was more emotional than I thought. She came home, big smile on her face, and then got the shakes! I think she was just as worried as I was. So a big cuddle and lots of kisses helped her (and me). A new chapter will now begin in her life, her confidence was really boosted today. My little girl just keeps growing up.

Renderers came. Spent all day with us redoing the corners and plastering them. They left just before Mr S got home. So I thought he would be happy ... erm, that's a no then. Oh well, he has two days holiday now so hopefully he'll cheer up before we go camping Friday!
