My Beloved Cross
I love this cross that I'm wearing. I wear it all the time unless I'm swimming in the lake or a public pool. It's white gold with lots of little diamonds.
This evening I was going out with my friend julie for a girlie catch up as my husband was out being entertained at a cricket match. I got ready and off I went to pick her up.
We were going to San a Chinese restaurant. You can have anything on the menu and it's a set price. Really nice food. We ordered our drinks and had started on our food when I felt my neck. To my horror my cross was gone but the chain was hanging around my neck.
I felt sick. I looked everywhere. I had people on the next table looking. I checked my underwear, had my bag out....couldn't be found. I asked the manager if it had been handed in but sadly no.
I decided to retrace my steps back to the car. I looked in the car, under the car, I had the homeless who congregate there looking...but no I didn't find it.
I went back to the restaurant and my friend said we had to go back to my house and look from there. As it was my fault we had to leave I paid for both of us and we left. We had another good look all the way back to the car....not to be found.
I got home and raced up to my bedroom to start looking from there....and there it was on the bedroom floor.....I have never been so grateful to see something.
A quick call to the restaurant to tell them we had found it. They said we could go back and finish our meal.....so we did.
Alls well that ends well :)
