British Rail efficiency in primary colours

I travelled home from Southampton today. Unlike Friday, when I had a delayed journey, today's travel could not have gone better. The 0900 from Southampton was on time; crossing London on the tube worked perfectly; I was able to catch an express train north a whole hour before mine (and find a seat!); we were 1 minute early into Newcastle and the Hexham train was 2 mins late, so I made the connection. Home about 2 hours sooner than I expected.

I enjoyed seeing my friends, but I am very glad to be home again.
