On your marks

Busy day of games related activity. Off to the netball in the morning. The Aussies gubbed the South Africans in the first game, but the second was a cracker. The Jamaicans and the Kiwis were very evenly matched. The game ebbed and flowed, but in the end the class of the kiwis shone through, with them winning 50-42. Even the appearance of Usain Bolt in the crowd to cheer The Sunshine Girls on couldn't get them over the line.

We had a decent picture of the fastest man in the world, but instead chose to go with this one from the night's athletics. Hampden was packed and in fine voice this evening. We saw plenty of medal-winning performances, including men's high jump, long jump and 400m and women's javelin and heptathlon.

This was snapped just before the women took their marks for the steeplechase. Good performance from Eilish McColgan but no medal today.
