No Worries...

It's been a great week in Oban. The weather has been kind, wet and cloudy in the morning/overnight, and gorgeous sunshine in the afternoon and evening. You can't ask for more. Makes me wonder why we went on holiday abroad in previous years.

Today's itinerary? A trip to Seil Island (former home of Princess Diana's mum), and the Atlantic Bridge (No 3 was VERY impressed that this tiny stone bridge built in 1792 was actually over the Atlantic !) Loads of Jacobite history there.

We travelled on to Ellenabeich where 'Ring of Bright Water' was filmed. Blue skies, blue sea all the way.

There are loads of castles around here. Some on Islands (my sister Janet in OZ would LOVE it !). We travelled past Oban to visit Dunstaffnage one of Scotland's oldest stone castles. This place is steeped in Scottish history - it was even the one-time prison of Flora Macdonald.

There's a pebbly beach nearby (thanks for the tip Gillipaw !) where No 3 had a paddle in her pants! By this time it was 5pm, warm, sunny...perfect. Here's Mr S enjoying the view from the beach away from all the women in his life.

The only thing to spoil my Chakra (as my sister would say) ? The annoying woman in the Piazza restaurant on the pier at Oban. Said we could only occupy one small outside table for coffee/beer/pizza (pre dinner snack to keep us going) as the 'Restaurant' tables had to be kept free for people eating dinner. I voted with my feet.

Coffee and choccies at the Chocolate Facotry instead - Happy Hour - Free chocolates after 6pm - RESULT !

A great day out. Lovely to spend time with the girls. At home we are all too busy rushing about to really get to know one another. We're actually quite a nice family when we take the time to talk to one another. Wish I could stay here forever.
