Eilein

After another 'full' breakfast and a wander round Doune to check out the castle and score a picnic launch, we set off for Inverness. We stopped on the way at Loch an Eilein, near Aviemore in the Cairngorms where there's a really nice circular walk through the tall pines, a low rocky beach for paddling and a decent view of the ruined castle that sits overgrown on an island in the loch. A good place for a picnic and an ice cream too! After we'd checked into our Premier Inn we wandered into Inverness for a big Pizza Express tea and a walk up to the castle. Music: Nick Cave in the car (especially 'Nobody's Baby Now', which Beck played twice and I wondered if it was another murder ballad...)
