Watercolors

Our plans were foiled by rain tonight. We were en-route to the Fair only to get 5 miles down the road and hit "bucket rains". The storm had threatened all afternoon, no surprise for the summer we're having. The kids were disappointed, but were satisfied that we'd at least get a family movie night out of the deal.

We returned home and settled in to watch "Rio 2". I had gotten up to grab a glass of water and saw this lovely sight, alerting the family "the rainbow ends in our field". The kids and I ran outside to get a closer look and to capture it's amazing beauty. The sky was so dark, setting off the colors of the rainbow in brilliant, vibrant hues. It only lasted a few minutes, but was breathtakingly beautiful while it lasted.
