Knocked sideways

Bowed by winds and rain, hot sun in the day and slugs at night, these three zinnias are still giving their best! They shine out in the day and glow in the evening.
I was a bit bowed down this afternoon. Have you ever tried to transfer money from one bank to another? I attempted to do this in town, but the ladies behind the glass seemed a little confused as to the procedure!
"You need to bring in your passport and a utility bill."
"No, you don't, sorry, just a paper driving licence will be fine."
"We'll have to give you a cheque."
"No, we can transfer electronically. Oh dear, it would be nice if we had a manager in this branch."

And then they decided that they could only send whole pounds, not the 86p.
So I have to call in again to pick up a cheque for 86p......
Which I can then pay into my bank.

We had to go and have a pot of tea and a bakewell slice after that.
