Child's Play

As I enter the third week of Lady A's marathon trip to Canada a walk to the parents for lunch (very nice mother as I know you'll be reading this. 7/10. An extra mark would have been granted but for the rather well done potatoes....) allowed the old brain to reminisce about the childish games we used to play in the local area - some I'm not that proud of but a few very amusing. This looks like a plain garage and in many ways it is a plain garage but in the early 90's it was the scene of a fun game. Not fun for a particularly grumpy older couple who never threw our balls back when we'd kicked them over. It was called the rotten apple garage as on the hour, every hour we'd lob an apple as hard as we could at the garage making the loudest noise just as they were settling down for the afternoon and then run off and hide. Once they chased after us we did it so often. That game I'm not so proud of (which is why I'm blipping about it 25 years later...). The other game, a particular favourite of mine, was where two of us would stand opposite each other either side of a road. As a car drove along we'd both pretend to be pulling a rope across the road really tightly - an imaginary rope - and 99% of the time the car would stop as they'd thought they would drive into it. We'd fall about laughing as they'd drive off shouting at us. The game went on until the mum of the other kid I was playing with drove down the road... We didn't play it any longer....

Rotten apple garage and imaginary rope - fun times sorry I mean daft and irresponsible times...
