ALS Ice bucket challenge.
Mixed bag of emotions today:
The wrong stones arrived, I believed I'd asked for decorative pebbles, I got what can only be described as the gravel that goes in to cement!
The *ham* joint that I cooked in the Nigela cherry cola style. turned out to be pork!
The big bag -compost type- split and let its load of elderberries and rhubarb go just by my back door!
My beautiful puppy thought it a good idea to join me via the front bedroom window ! Fortunately her young soft bones gave her a safe landing.
My husband could do naught but laugh when I told him my tales of woe !
All I wanted was chocolate and couldn't get any as I don't use the village shop!
At five o'clock I realised I hadn't completed my ALS challenge, my husband was still at work and would not be available to do the video for me...and the sun was going down so it was becoming a tad chilly!
I made a plan.
When himself got home at 7pm I gathered together a fresh set of clothes, a towel and a bucket then we went to the village pub and asked Jack - son of pub landlord- if he would care to come outside and pour icy cold water over me... You guessed it!
His concern was that he was too small to pour the water over me. Naturally I obliged by taking the floor.
Whilst in the pub enjoying my well earned pint a local lady asked to see the video and wanted to know why we were doing this silly thing out in the cold. She laughed at the short film and then pulled a tenner out of her wallet and asked that I put it towards my donation... So long as she didn't have to be doused too!
Part of the challenge is that you nominate three friends to take the challenge ... I nominated my good friend J Burrows, Steve Brigham and fellow blipper Brian Higginson
My lovely son-in-law has nominated my other arf!!
I will blip him and JB tomorrow !
Thank you dear daughter.
In other news I made loads of fruit liqueurs today from the bags of fruits found at the bottom of the freezer... Xmas is looking good!!!
