.......oh my poor wallet............

Costly day today..........nipped out early while the weather was good for a spot of fishing.......3 hours.....3 fish........but all decent ones.

Home by 12.00.

Taxed the car............£112,50 for 6 months!

Took the car for an MOT............fortunately at Shaun's place of employment......passed..........£40.00.

While it was being MOT'd Bill informed me that the front brake pads had about 500 miles left in them............Shaun made a quick call..........£26.58 for a new pair.......delivered within 20 minutes.....fitted by Shaun as soon as the MOT was finished....gratis......it's good having mates in the trade.

Learned two new things today.

No matter how good (or bad) your car is an MOT has to last 45 minutes..........the test can be complete in 20 minutes but the car has to stay on the ramp for 45 minutes!

A car will fail an MOT if it has anything hanging from the rear view mirror!..........and even though it would take literally seconds to remove the offending item(s) the car has to be retested!

The wallet won't get much chance to recover........the dentist will want £100 tomorrow.
