Exploration

While i was outside today hanging washing out, Harper explored our little courtyard.

I snapped a lot of pics of him but i liked this one the best.

He had found a stone, put it on the container and realized it made a great sound when he dropped it on the lid so he kept doing it and squealing with delight when it made the sound.
It was a great moment where cause and effect were realized by him. Developmentally its one thing the education system always look at- that a child knows if they do something it will cause something to happen. Kanye only developed this maybe a year or so ago.

I was really proud of Harper just as i was when Kanye developed it.

I guess that's one thing that has maybe increased my awareness of development in mar and Harper- because of Kanye i've had to attend numerous assessments; cognitive, psychological, sensory etc. Ive also had so many therapist appointments and received advice from said therapists that i now pick up on these little things that had i not been through this with Kanye; i might have brushed this off with Harper as 'cute'.

I feel privileged to have the knowledge from everything with Kanye to notice the little achievements Harper, Marley and Kanye make- acknowledge and applaud them for it.

After throwing the stone around he found a weed i had pulled out and was extremely interested in it, walking around holding it, waving it around like a cloth. He then dropped that when he discovered the fence - that there was hole in the fence, he kept peeking through fascinated with this part of the fence.

When Marley was little there was a raised tiled area on the hearth of the fire at my in laws that he loved stepping up and then down it- well today Harper found a small low lying brick that he could do that same thing, he stepped up and then down, he did this for a decent amount of time completely proud of himself when he got it right each time without falling. I also saw him stand without holding onto to anything for the first time!!

Taxi run went well at both ends of the day today so was able to be a bit more relaxed. My legs were incredibly sore form the sprinting and Pilates yesterday so i decided to have a rest day- i still did my sun salutation though.


Andre is on his 630-10pm shift this week. Its kind of weird he just has to be around in case his phone rings and fix what ever problem arises otherwise hes still helping me with kids. I almost feel fraudulent that they're paying him to be home and around for any calls.

I really enjoyed my day with Harper today, its nice to get one on one time with him.
