Garden Parties & Love Festivals

Our day began with a stroll through Hyde Park to The Intercontinental where we ate some of the best Eggs Benedict I've had! We then continued our stroll to Buckingham Palace where we had tickets to enjoy The State Rooms and annual exhibition. The Palace is only open in Summer months so it was pretty special to see the inside. The rooms were the most exquisite, beautiful and extravagant things I have ever seen (no photography allowed of course). Honestly, it was amazing to see that much wealth in such a small space, it is breathtaking. After we took the audio-guide tour through the Palace we exited into the gardens where there was a cafe serving food and coffee. We had a small taste of being a guest at one of the Queen's Garden Parties before strolling through the gorgeous gardens to the exit.

Heading down Birdcage Walk, we made our way to Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Mum decided she'd rather not wait in the mile ling line to get into the Abbey so we just enjoyed the view and gift shop instead.

We then headed over to Southbank to sit, relax, people watch, and have a few sneaky glasses of wine. There was a 'Love Festival' happening and I loved the colours of this large arch way they had created. Each colour of words matches up to form a quote about love, It took me a while, but I managed to piece them all together!

We headed back to the hotel, had a delicious dinner of nibbles and tapas, then headed outside to watch Harry Potter at the outdoor cinema. We also played a game of giant chess. All in all, a great day. Tomorrow, Ireland!
