Overload

A day of multiple blips. Brass band, pompon dancers, goats bashing each other on the head at noon, polish musketeers wandering the streets of Poznan,a bread fair, a magnificent organ and violin recital in a baroque church, pancakes, giant bubbles, Death, wedding couples, modern building design. The list goes on.

But today is about my godson Greig marrying his fiancée Natalia. We had a lovely ceremony in a centuries of church. The service was a mix of Polish and English and while we could not follow all of it the content was clear to us. As was their love and devotion to each other.

We then headed off in a coach to a renovated village hall for an evening if feasting, vodka and dancing. The Poles seems to like dancing more than the Scots but the music was slightly stuck in the 1970s . Great fun . No ceilidh , but there's always day 2 tomorrow when we return for the next day. A great day with different customs - and no best man's or groom 's speeches !!!

And we even had enquiries about the referendum on 18 September!

One tradition was arriving at the venue where the bride and groom walked down through the guests who had been given balloons to release. While we might not be allowed to of this for environmental reasons in Scotland - wildlife can eat and choke on the balloons - it nevertheless was a notable part of the festivities here, captured in the blip.

We're not sure how we will manage any more food tomorrow. But we'll give it a go . It would be impolite not to. !!
