Deadwood
There was a gunfight in Deadwood, SD, today. Well, in fact, there were several, carefully timed to appeal to the tourists.
After a long drive across a beautiful, almost empty landscape, we arrived in historic Deadwood. We did indeed see the stagecoach made famous by Doris. I have to say the town was very commercialized, albeit photogenically so.
Then onwards to Rapid City, the Centre of which is famous for its statues of all US Presidents. Interesting (and worthy) though that is, I enjoyed even more Art Alley, a 200 metre alleyway, both sides of which are covered in street art.
