What a find.

Marley found this $10 note that was made to commemorate the new millennium by the reserve bank. How he found it is a story- here goes.

Last year there was an unfortunate incident at my neighbours, HERE is the story. You might remember it.

They were an odd couple but the man-Guy, was a nice person he always said hello and when there was the fire in our flat post June earthquake he thought we were home so tried to get in to get us out.

We were in shock the morning we woke to a lot of police and forensics in our driveway. Anyways they had a teenage son who was a quiet boy who i think was doing carpentry. After all of this- having lost his mum and his dad, he along with extended family in the days following the incident moved the stuff out of the flat across from us.

One day i came home to boxes on my doorstep, that boy had given my boys lego, toy soldiers and other toys. Kanye and Marley were so in love with the new toys they were instantly sprawled across the lounge and kitchen floor with them lying amongst it playing happily.

I went to find the boy to show him what joy he had brought my boys but i only found his family members who came to look.
I said how grateful i was and how much they loved it- they then thanked me and were grateful for showing me them playing as it brought back memories of the boy playing and it made their day. They were happy that through that turmoil their family had been thrown into the boys gift had made other boys happy. I asked them to pass on my thanks as i hadn't seen the boy personally to do so.

The next day when we got home there was another box- full of Dr Seuss books- the older style hard cover, older drawings type. I love books in the older form not the new improved. Anyways that day i was able to thank him- i asked if he was sure, he was happy to pass these things on.

Recently Marley has really got into the books and this morning while reading The Cat in the Hat found this $10 note. He initially thought it was a ticket but we told him it was money so he hid it.

We did some research and some notes like these have been sold to collectors!! Marley wants to keep it and i think that's a good idea but what a find! And what a way to remember the gifts that boy gave during a difficult time for him and how happy it made him and his family to do so

Faith in humanity? I think so.

I had a great day. I caught up with my friend who, we figured out today as she filled out my passport witness part; have been friends for 17 years!!

I made her a coffee and the cake- gluten free style- that we had last night in the form of muffins. She loved them as did i. They turned out amazing.

After she left i went to get Marley and got his class photo! He has such a cheesy smile!

Everything is back to normal today after yesterdays fluid incidents though Harper did have a poo nappy he managed to pull off and start playing with, luckily i caught him as he just reached for it! Phew! That could have been a lot worse.
